Why do I feel so heavy?

It’s spring — I should be delighted!

The heaviness I felt wasn’t just in my body — it was emotional. When I finally said it out loud — “I feel listless, stunted, overburdened” — I knew something had to shift.

I wanted my summer to feel energized, but the path I was on couldn’t lead me there.
I had poured too much emotional energy into someone only capable of a transactional relationship. That realization broke my heart — but I had to face it.

If I wanted to move toward my hopes and dreams, I had to protect the energy it would take to get there.

I found myself swinging between guilt and anger — two emotional weights locked in a tug-of-war.
It was exhausting.
And it was time to stop the struggle.

Tiny tip of the week

For me, the first step was a long-overdue boundary.
No big speech. No announcement.
I just quietly stepped away from the emotional pageantry of her birthday — no cake, no candles, no tight smiles.
Instead, I offered a casual coffee date.

That small shift freed up emotional space.
Space I used to plan a raised flower bed with my partner.
Space for real presence. Real connection.
And a coffee date that felt lighter, more honest — without all the anger trailing behind it.

Emotional spring cleaning might not clear your shelves,
but it could lighten the heaviest corners of your heart —
and that might matter even more.
