The weight of harvest

Harvest isn’t only about bounty. It’s also labor — bending, sorting, choosing what stays and what must be let go. In every field, the weight of the season shows in full baskets and tired hands. In our lives, too, harvest carries both fullness and fatigue.

As autumn leans in, pause with this question: What are you carrying from last year, from last spring? Some things nourish — a relationship that deepened, a practice that steadied you, a memory that still gives strength. Other things weigh heavier — obligations that no longer fit, disappointments that linger, or habits that don’t serve you. Harvest asks us to sort honestly. What feeds you, and what depletes you?

Sometimes we fear letting go because it feels like waste. Yet the field knows — not everything is stored. Some is composted, some simply laid down. Release, too, has its place in the rhythm of growth.

Tiny tip of the week

When something feels heavy, ask: Does this sustain me or deplete me? Keep what steadies you. Compost the rest.

Connection prompt

Write down one thing you’re ready to release and one thing you’re choosing to keep.

Let it be small, specific, and real — a daily habit, a phrase you tell yourself, or a commitment you’re renewing.
