Anticipation

There is a way to anticipate something without abandoning yourself.
A way to stay close to what’s coming…without living inside it.

I think of it like this:

Hope is holding the future in your palm.

Anxiety is gripping it too tightly.

Gentle anticipation is keeping your hand open—while staying rooted.

Because yes, something is coming.

Yes, you care.
Yes, it matters.
But you still deserve to live today while you wait.

Gentle anticipation sounds like:

“I’m looking forward to this… and I’m here, too.”

“This matters, but it’s not everything.”

“I can prepare without obsessing.”

“I can want this without losing myself.”

It is the art of staying emotionally near the future…
without climbing into it.

This is especially important in waiting seasons —
when nothing is resolved yet,
but your heart keeps reaching forward.

And sometimes your deepest support is found in:

Micro-grounding.
Small anchors.
Small returns.

Not to shut the future out…
but to stop it from swallowing the present.
