Waiting

Waiting can feel heavy.

When something important is unresolved —
a medical result, a job decision, a difficult conversation —
your body doesn’t relax just because nothing is happening.

Your nervous system stays alert.
Muscles tighten.
Thoughts loop.

This sensation is subtle and persistent.

You may notice:

shorter patience

trouble focusing

Irritability over small things

A constant mental “background tab” running

This isn’t weakness.
It’s your system trying to prepare
for something unknown.

Instead of judging yourself for being tense, try naming it plainly:

“I’m carrying the weight of not knowing.”

Naming this body sensation reduces the load.

It helps you realize:

You are not the weight.
You are the one carrying it.
You can manage it.
