For the quieter seasons within
I often hear people talking about duty and resentment in relationships — feelings that sometimes grow out of mental and emotional exhaustion.
I’ve felt that way myself.
But for a while now, after the duty and resentment have quieted, I’ve noticed something more interesting often appears:
A longing for pleasure.
A fear of it.
Not knowing how to receive it.
A blockage of some kind.
Perhaps it’s an old memory or fear that keeps you on pause.
Have you ever wondered what happened to your desire?
Not just sexual desire.
The kind of desire that makes you feel awake.
Curious.
Drawn toward something.
Have you been curious about where to start?
Maybe it’s waiting to unfold differently.
Not like the desire you had before, but a more mature, loving version of it.
Sometimes, we don’t know what’s missing.
Until we miss it.
